We recently went on an adventure to the Mummer’s Museum in Philadelphia. The Mummers Museum opened in 1976 as part of Philadelphia’s celebration of America’s Bicentennial. The Museum is dedicated to celebrating the tradition of Mummery in Philadelphia. Inside are costumes, oral histories, video and audio archives and even an exhibit to teach anyone how to “strut.” During the outing we toured the museum, enjoyed a lunch prepared by their chef and were lucky enough to have a private performance by the mummers! Many of us enjoy and remember watching the Mummers parade every year – now was our chance to see them in person as well! Be on the lookout for all of the fun and exciting excursions that will take place over the next couple of months!
